Over the years, a PrestaShop database piles up hundreds of thousands of rows that are no longer used day to day: orders older than three years, abandoned carts, expired vouchers, disabled customer accounts, visitor connections, 404 pages, system logs… The result: a slower back office, order and customer lists that take longer to load, sluggish statistics and ever-heavier backups.
EC Archive lets you clean up safely. Pick a data type, set your criteria (older than X days, order statuses, shops, account type…), run a simulation to see exactly what will be affected, then archive. Items are moved, together with all their related data, to compressed archive tables: they disappear from the back office and statistics, but nothing is lost.
Every run creates a traceable batch. At any time you can restore a whole batch, a single item (an order found by its reference, a customer by e-mail) or a selection: data comes back exactly as it was, with the same IDs. The module checks dependencies (an archived customer must be restored before their orders) and cancels any restore in case of conflict, without changing anything.
For data with no historical value (visit statistics, 404 pages, logs), the “Permanent deletion” mode frees up space directly. It is protected by an automatic SQL backup taken just before, restorable in one click.
The module includes a real backup tool: tables of a data type, selected tables, archive tables or the full database, as a downloadable .sql.gz file. Restore works in merge mode (only re-inserts missing rows) or replace mode (back to the exact state of the backup), table by table.
Everything is designed for large databases: batch processing in transactions with a progress bar, no execution timeout, automatic resume of interrupted jobs. A secure cron URL automates regular archiving, purging of old archives and backup rotation.
EC Archive understands the PrestaShop data model: an order is archived with its details, taxes, history, invoices, payments, credit slips, returns, messages and shipments; tables linked by a foreign key are detected automatically and your modules' tables can be added in one click.
